Miscreants throw acid on carpenter in Assam

A shocking incident of acid attack has been reported from Assam’s Cachar district.
A carpenter, identified as Shankar Das, was attacked by some unknown miscreants who poured acid on his face.
Reportedly, Shankar Das was called by some unknown person for furniture work on May 4. A person who came to pick up Shankar Das after driving a few kilometers from his home in Kalain asked him to get off the bike.
Suddenly, the biker took out a bottle and poured acid on Shankar’s face. The miscreant fled the area after committing the crime.
Shankar to jump into a pond nearby to stop the burning. A passer-by came to his rescue who helped him and got him admitted to Kalain Primary Health Center. He was later shifted to Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH).
The victim, on Tuesday, filed an FIR at Kalain Police Station. An investigation is underway.
