Minor dead, one missing, 10 injured After Boat Carrying Wedding Guests Capsize in Tipkai River, Dhubri, Assam

In a tragic incident that unfolded last night in Assam’s Dhubri district, a minor boy drowned after the boat carrying him and 25 other wedding guests capsized in the Tipkai River.

The accident occurred when the boat carrying the guests of a wedding party collided with two motor-run boats, one of which was carrying road rollers in the Tipkai River at Kaunbari near Bilasipara in Dhubri.

The collision caused the boat to overturn, resulting in chaos and panic among the people.

In the aftermath, the minor boy and another individual went missing in the frigid waters, while at least 10 others sustained injuries.

All injured persons have been admitted to Dhubri Medical College & Hospital for treatment.

The body of the minor boy was recovered this morning during search operations, while efforts continue to locate the other missing person.
