Husband kills and buries wife, surrenders before police after villagers find body

A man who was accused of murdering his wife and burying the body in the backyard surrendered before the Nagaon Police on Sunday
A sensational incident was reported from Nagaon district of Assam where a husband killed and buried his wife. He surrendered before the Nagaon police after locals found the body and informed the police.
He had buried the body of his wife in the nearby premises of their home at Dimoruguri Kesa Ali lane.
According to police, some locals saw the toes of the buried woman sticking out of the soil and informed the police.
After being informed about the incident, the Nagaon Police and the district magistrate arrived at the spot and exhumed the woman’s body.
A day after the body was found the husband surrendered before the Nagaon Police on Sunday. The accused identified as Narayan Das surrendered before the Itachali Town Police.
Narayan confessed to the crime and surrendered before the Nagaon police. Narayan was often involved in an argument and thus killed his wife, Momi Das. Narayan, is an e-rickshaw driver and had been living in the Dimoruguri area for many years with his wife.
The police stated that on the night of Holi both husband and wife picked up a fight and Narayan Das punched on the chest of his wife 2-3 times. succumbed to her injuries.
Further investigations into the case are underway.
