Guwahati: Guidelines Issued for Durga Puja Celebrations, Setting up of Puja Pandals on Public Thoroughfares Restricted

Parking regulations have been put in place, with restrictions on parking within 100 meters of any Pandal.

As Guwahati gears up for the vibrant Durga Puja festivities, the Kamrup (M) District administration has rolled out a comprehensive set of guidelines aimed at ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

To promote safety during the celebrations, the administration has prohibited the setup of Puja Pandals on public thoroughfares to maintain clear passageways for pedestrians and vehicles.

The public is urged to refrain from defacing walls, properties, or natural objects with posters and banners. Establishing offices or kiosks on public property is also strictly prohibited.

Parking regulations have been put in place, with restrictions on parking within 100 meters of any Pandal.

The hanging of flags, buntings, and posters in public areas is similarly restricted.

To further safeguard the environment, the use of plastic bags, flags, banners, and buntings in public spaces is banned.

The administration has also set a curfew for loudspeakers, prohibiting their use beyond 10 PM to respect the privacy of residents and students.

Moreover, the use of highly flammable materials for pandal decorations is strictly prohibited to prevent any fire hazards.
