Family files FIR against hospital after 5 year old dies of snake bite

In the FIR, the family has alleged that the 5-year-old girl died because anti-venom was not administered to her on time by the hospital authorities
In a major development in the Nalbari child death incident, in which a 5-year-old girl died after being bitten by a snake, an FIR has been registered at Ghograpar Police Station against the doctors of Nalbari Medical College & Hospital for gross negligence.
The FIR has been filed by the victim’s family against the Nalbari Medical College and Hospital principal and the doctors who had attended the victim.
In the FIR, the family has alleged that the 5-year-old girl died because anti-venom was not administered to her on time by the hospital authorities.
After the FIR against the hospital, an assistant professor, Dr. Jonali Bhattacharyya, has been immediately transferred to Jorhat Medical College & Hospital.
A committee was also formed to probe if there was alleged negligence by Nalbari Medical College and Hospital authorities in saving the 5-year-old child.
