Fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 15. 44 lakhs seized in Assam, one held

A fake money launderer identified as Nizam Uddin Laskar has been arrested in relation to the case

In a big breakthrough, a huge sum of fake Indian currency notes was seized at Puran Chandpur on the Indo-Bangladesh border in Patharkandi constituency of Assam’s Karimganj district on Tuesday.

Assam Rifles and Assam Police acting on a tip-off seized a total of Rs 15.44 lakhs in the joint operation.

A fake money launderer identified as Nizam Uddin Laskar has been arrested in the case.

The arrested Nizam Uddin Laskar’s house is in the Keuti area bordering India and Bangladesh in the Patharkandi police station area.

Nizam was supposed to take this money to Mizoram.
