General Secretary and Chief Spokesperson of the AIUDF, Aminul Islam said that all opposition parties should unite to defeat the BJP

Ahead of the 2024 General Elections, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has said that it is ready to form a united opposition front without Congress to fight BJP.

Sharing the party’s stand, General Secretary and Chief Spokesperson of the AIUDF, Aminul Islam said the AIUDF is planning to fight the 3 seats where the party won last time alone. In the remaining four seats where the party secured the second position, AIUDF is ready for an alliance with any party.

“Our party stand is very clear we want to fight 3 seats alone; the seats we have won earlier that is Barpeta, Dubri, and Karimganj. So these three seats we will fight lonely and remaining 4 seats we have got second position that it Mangaldoi, Nagaon, Kaliabor, and Silchar. These 4 seats we will go to any extent with any party. If congress want to come with us, then no issue,” Said Aminul Islam.
Aminul also said that the party’s doors are open to anti-BJP forces for an alliance but not with the Congress.

“Our party AIUDF is with the UPA since long back so the decision is very clear that we will fight against the BJP and our stand is very clear that we want an opposition unity. Without opposition unity we cannot beat the BJP because if the secular board is divided in separate groups then ultimately the benefit goes to in favour of the BJP,”Aminul said.

Islam also questioned the role and existence of Congress, who has been on a spree of defeats in recent elections.
