A body of a newborn baby stuffed in a cardboard box was found near a forest area in Assam’s Cachar district this evening.
As per inputs, the body of the newborn was first noticed by a local in the jungle area adjacent to Gammon Bridge on National Highway No. 6 of Katigorah constituency.
He immediately informed the Katigorah police and locals and later police with the help of the locals recovered the dead body and brought it to the police station.
The identification of the body is not known yet.
Investigation into the matter is underway and the the body will be sent for post-mortem examination.
