CM Sarma said that the reason behind such confidence is massive transformation Assam has undergone during PM Modi's regime

Assam Chief Minister and BJP’s top strategist for Northeast Himanta Biswa Sarma today exuded confidence that his party will win at least 11-12 seats in Assam in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at the National Executive, BJP Mahila Morcha (Guwahati), the Assam Chief Minister said that the picture has changed unbelievably as compared to the Congress regime. Chief Minister Sarma slammed the Grand Old Party stating that funds never reached the needy.
In his address to the party workers at the National Executive of the Mahila Morcha, Chief Minister Sarma said, “If we go 10 years back, and look at any party executive, leaders in Gujarat, UP could say that the party will get 100 % seats. But nobody can imagine that as Assam CM I can say that there are 14 seats in my state and out of that BJP will win 11-12 seats. This was not possible 10 years back. But I have nothing to boast while saying this (that BJP will win 11-12 seats) because this has become very very natural. This will definitely happen, whether I am there or not, BJP will get 11-12 seats, there are some reasons where we will miss 1 or 2 seats due to some factors. The main reason behind our confidence is that there has been massive transformation. There has been a paradigm shift in terms of development which is unimaginable.”
It may be mentioned that this is the first statement by the Assam Chief Minister in terms of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Himanta Biswa Sarma harping on the development agenda affirmed that there has been a massive transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in the state as well as in the entire Northeast. According to Sarma because of this the party has made inroads and able to earn the trust, faith of the people.

In this context the Assam Chief Minister stated, “There were schemes previously too, but that did not reach NE. Because it was the Congress regime them, funds for the schemes came from Delhi, but after it reached here, funds were swindled (the Assam CM referred to it as dacoity). But now during PM Modi’s rule ‘dacoits’ have perished, the funds are now directly reaching the beneficiaries and utilized for the purpose of development. Due to this there is an unimaginable transformation in Northeast.”

Highlighting the scale of development that Assam has undergone so far under PM Narendra Modi’s regime, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned, “In a state like Assam 12 Medical Colleges are already operational, whereas construction for 12 others are going on in different stages. This means that there is a Medical College and Hospital in every district. Earlier there were 300 medical seats in ASsam, but during PM Modi’s regime it has increased to 1500. There is development in every sphere.”
