Sarma claimed that 2 years from now no Hindu will be a part of the Congress. Not only this, the Assam CM affirmed that majority of the Muslim people will quit Congress

In this context, CM Sarma said, “By 2026, no Hindu person will be there in Congress, except 1-2 people. And by 2032, most of the Muslim people will leave Congress, considering the way we are moving ahead.”
Asked as to what will happen to the Congress after that, CM Sarma said, “We will go and sit in Rajiv Bhawan (Assam Congress headquarters). We will open a branch of BJP there, for the Guwahati unit of the BJP.”

The Chief Minister’s latest jibe against the Congress came ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in Assam which will be held in three phases on April 19, 26 and May 7.

The NDA alliance in the state is contesting in all the 14 constituencies. The BJP has announced candidates in 11 seats while its partners Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) will contest in two seats and the United Peoples’ Party Liberal (UPPL) in one.
