A galaxy of Bollywood stars starting from Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone to Hrithik Roshan to Anil Kapoor have all landed in Assam.

It is not just the actors who are in the northeastern state this November.

Assam is also playing host to actor Shakti Kapoor, singer Sunidhi Chauhan.

Just a few days back popular comedian of yesteryears, Govardhan Asrani and ‘Dream Girl’ Hema Malini were in the state too.

Mother-daughter actress duo of Lillete Dubey and Ira Dubey too visited the state recently.

While Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor are in Tezpur to shoot for their next film ‘Fighter’, Shakti Kapoor and Sunidhi Chauhan are in the state’s Karbi Anglong district to participate in the two-day Karbi Anglong festival being organised to celebrate the 71st year of Karbi Anglong being named a district of Assam.

Comedian Asrani and Hema Malini were in the state to take part in the Raas Mahotsav held in Nalbari.

Lillete Dubey and Ira Dubey were in Guwahati to take part in Guwahati Theatre Festival.

This is not the first time that celebrities and eminent personalities have visited the state.

Actors, sportspersons, corporate honchos of the stature of Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, and even Prince William and Kate too have visited Assam.

The major attraction for most of these people has been either the Kaziranga National Park or the Kamakhya Temple.

But the recent visit of the Bollywood celebs has been purely for Assam’s culture and Assam fast emerging as a favourite destination for Mumbai’s film industry and a hotspot for film shooting locations.

It is just a matter of time that Assam’s attraction would woo the mega filmmakers of South India.
