In a big revelation, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that preliminary discussions were held on an ambitious Rs 5,000 crore scheme for providing self-employment opportunities to the youth of the state during the just-concluded ‘Chintan Shivir’.
And this was stated by CM Sarma while briefing media persons at the conclusion of the 3-day Chintan Shivir last evening.
The CM also said that detailed discussions on development goals for the state till 2026 were held during the ‘Chintan Shivir’ for ministers and top government officials.
During the three-day program, they also deliberated on possible steps that would be taken up to meet the development targets in the next four years, CM Sarma added, while talking to reporters at the end of the program.
Talking to reporters at the end of the program, Sarma said, “During the Chintan Shivir, we discussed targets (of development) for 2026 and resource mobilization to achieve the goals,” he said.
Notably, the BJP-led coalition government in the state will complete its tenure in mid-2026.
The CM further added that based on the deliberations, action plans will be prepared soon and uploaded on the department websites so that time-bound implementation can be tracked by the people.
Moreover, Yoga and spiritual guru Jaggi Vasudev, popularly known as Sadhguru, also participated in the three-day Chintan Shivir organized by the Assam government.
The Assam Chief Minister also said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was signed on the ‘Save Soil’ movement spearheaded by his Isha Foundation.
The main aim to organize the Chintan Shivir is to prepare a roadmap for the holistic development of the state by 2026.
Later, Chief Minister Sarma unveiled three rhino statues at Mihimukh in Kaziranga along with Sadhguru.
These rhino statues have been created using the ashes collected from burning rhino horns.
It may be noted that on September 22, 2021, the Assam government made history when a stockpile of 2479 rhino horns was consigned to flames to send across a strong message to the poachers and illegal horn traders that rhino horns have no medicinal value.
