In a shocking incident that has surfaced on social media, a man from Shillong was brutally tortured and beaten up by a man in Assam’s Hailakandi district.
The victim, identified as Bishnu Dutta in the video, was tied to a tree, and his head was shaved.
The victim, who came from Shillong to visit his uncle’s place, was captured by the accused and brutally assaulted.
After the video went viral, Assam’s DGP, GP Singh, ordered the SP of Hailkandi district to take immediate action and arrest all the perpetrators.
DGP GP Singh, taking to social media on Tuesday, shared that the accused, identified as Nizmuddin Borbhuyan, has been apprehended along with three others.
DGP Singh also said that lawful action will be taken against the accused.
“Reference Hailakandi viral video of torture – the main accused Nizamuddin Borbhuyan has been arrested by @HailakandiPolic along with three others. Lawful action follows. @assampolice @CMOfficeAssam” GP Singh tweeted.
