Assam: Majuli becomes only district in state with zero pending FIRs

A total of 276 criminal cases were disposed of in the four police stations and four police patrol posts across the district in 2023.

Majuli became the only district in Assam to enter the new year with no pending FIRs (First Information Reports) and criminal cases.

A total of 276 criminal cases were disposed of in the four police stations and four police patrol posts across the district in 2023.

This information was shared by Majuli Superintendent of Police (SP) Bibekananda Das.

Speaking to media Das said, “ We are pleased to inform you that in Majuli district all the criminal cases of 2023 and even older cases have been cleared up on December 31. The number of pending cases in our district currently stands at zero. The officers present here have worked very hard and for that I thank them.”

“We are the only district in Assam where there are no pending criminal cases,” he added.
