Assam: Kokrajhar Higher Secondary School emerge winners in Khelo India Under-15 women’s football

They defeated The Gunners Team Kaliphukri school by a margin of 4 goals to 1.

The Kokrajhar Higher Secondary School emerged winners in the Khelo India Under-15 women’s football. They defeated The Gunners Team Kaliphukri school by a margin of 4 goals to 1.

The final match was played at the Kokrajhar KDSA playground.

Later in the prize giving ceremony prize money of Rs 50, 000 was handed over to the winning team and Rs 30,000 was handed over to the runners-up. Trophies, medals and certificates were also handed out in the ceremony.

President of the All Assam Masters Athletics, Maguram Balari said,“ To perform well in Olympics and World Cups in football, the government has taken quite a few initiatives. One of the initiatives The Khelo India Games was organized today in Kokrajhar. One thing we have learnt from the event is that there is a conducive environment in Kokrajhar for the growth of women’s football. So we hope that we will see women from Kokrajhar district performing at the highest level soon.”

Balari attended the event as the Chief Guest. Assam Football Association Vice President Kabiranjan Brahma and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
