Assam Cyber Police Recovers Rs 23,000 for Dharapur Online Scam Victim

Guwahati Police informed that the recovery was made after the amount was traced to a bank account following the victim's complaint.

In a commendable effort, a team from Assam Police’s Cyber Police Station (Cyber PS) recovered Rs. 23,000 for a Dharapur resident who fell victim to an online ticketing scam.

The victim had lost Rs. 23,400 while attempting to book tickets through a fraudulent website. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the Cyber Police tracked the transaction and recovered Rs. 23,000, bringing significant relief to the victim.

Guwahati Police highlighted the need for heightened awareness while conducting online transactions, urging citizens to double-check the authenticity of websites or links before sharing sensitive banking details. Guwahati Police reiterated their commitment to combating cybercrime and ensuring justice for victims.
