CM Sarma highlighted that the region is dealing with a number of issues such as drugs trafficking and insurgency
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today insisted on better coordination among the police forces of all the Northeast states as they were dealing with similar kind of issues such as drugs and insurgency.
In his address at the passing out parade of the 52nd batch of North East Police Academy (NEPA), the Assam Chief Minister said, “There has to be a lot of coordination between the law and order enforcing agencies in the Northeast. Because whatever problems exist in the region are equal and similar in character. Just like all the states in the NE have to come together and tackle the drugs trafficking from Myanmar. Rebel groups based in our Northeast, they stay together outside the nation, who adopts and follows a common strategy. This why the police forces in the Northeast must increase the understanding among themselves and fight against the rebels in a coordinated manner.”
“If there is camaraderie between the police forces of the states, if there is a sense of oneness among the forces than crimes can be prevented easily. Besides, policing will become more efficient if there is a coordination,” Sarma said.
CM Sarma congratulated the trainee DSPs and SIs who have passed out from the NEPA. In his message, Sarma stated, “Today we are witnessing the passing out parade of the trainees of the 52nd basic course here in NEPA. The passing out parade marks a significant milestone in the journey of every member of a uniform service. This is a moment of pride and accomplishment and you all are going to cherish this moment all throughout your life. I extend my warm congratulation to all of you. I compliment all whose who have won medals and trophies.”
