Assam: Class 4 student runs away from school to escape teacher’s torture

The student, who is studying at St. Robert High School located in Rangloo in Jakhalabandha, alleged that his teacher used to beat him up
Unable to bear the atrocities meted out by the teacher, a class 4 student of St. Robert High School located in Rangloo in Jakhalabandha in Assam’s Nagaon district ran away from the school to save himself.
The student alleged that his teacher used to beat him up, and to escape the torture, he ran away from the school.
The student used to stay at the school hostel. The accused teacher has been identified as Rafael Lakra.
The incident came to light after some people caught the boy strolling in the market alone. When the locals asked him why he was walking in the market alone, the child revealed that he ran away from the school to escape the torture from his teacher.
The locals then informed the school authorities, after which two teachers from the school came to bring back the student, however, the student, who was terrified, refused to go back.
The Magistrate of Kaliabor, Himashree Deka, and Jakhalabandha police have reached the school and are investigating the matter.
