The Assam-Agartala National Highway, which was closed for nearly four days following a massive landslide near the 47-mile area in Tripura, is expected to reopen for vehicular movement by this evening, according to officials.

As per reports, the highway developed a crack and a major portion of the road was blocked due to the landslide, which occurred on Tuesday after incessant rainfall in the region. The district administration responded swiftly by closing the highway to prevent accidents and diverting vehicles transporting essential goods, fuel, and LPG gas to Agartala via Kamalpur.

Reportedly, Dhalai District Magistrate, Saju Vaheed A, inspected the site today and confirmed that the repair work, being carried out by engineers from the Public Works Department (PWD), would be completed by noon. He further informed that by evening, the highway will be opened for traffic.
