Ankita Dutta Removed From Assam Youth Cong Presidentship

The reason behind her removal is not clear but Angkita had written about corruption in Congress

Assam Pradesh Congress Youth Committee President Angkita Dutta has been removed from the post. Angkita had recently taken to social media and wrote about corruption in the party.

Though it is not clear about why she has been removed, sources are saying that the election process for the new president will start from tomorrow.

Dutta, daughter of late Congress veteran Anjan Dutta, was appointed as the president of Assam Pradesh Congress Youth Committee last year.

In August this year, she was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Saradha funding case in ‘Dainik Batori’ newspaper.

Angkita is the Director of Anubhuti Printers & Publications Pvt Ltd, that was formed out of then Saradha Publications Pvt Ltd. She was summoned in connection with the funding case for printing their then Bengali news daily ‘Sakalbela, at Anubhuti Press at Guwahti during the year 2012 – 2013. Her father was also grilled by the CBI in connection with the multi-crore-rupee Saradha scam in 2014. Late Anjan Dutta was summoned to give details about his printing business which used to print a Bengali newspaper – Sakalbela and other materials for jailed Saradha promoter and purported scam kingpin Sudipta Sen.
