The much popular Alfresco Grand’s lunch cruise on the mighty Brahmapura is back. Now you can spend your weekend enjoying a lunch on the Alfresco Grand in the lap of the majestic Brahmaputra. The lunch cruise was launched today at a simple function held on board the cruise in Guwahati.
“We are back with our popular lunch cruise. We had started this cruise in 2016. It was very popular. But in 2019 we had to stop it for many reasons including Covid. Now that things are back to normal, we thought why not bring it back. This time we are also targeting the locals of Guwahati along with the tourists and the business travellers who showed a lot of love to Alfresco Grand lunch cruise for three years since 2016, ” Hemanta Doley, co-owner, Alfresco Grand said.
During the lunch cruise you can treat yourself, your family and friends to some thoughtfully picked ethnic Assamese cuisine and traditional dance and music from the different tribes and communities of Assam – Bodo, Tiwa, Karbi, Bihu, Assamese modern songs and more.
Besides the lunch cruise on weekends, the Alfresco Brahmaputra river cruise is available every evening from Monday to Friday. During the weekdays you can choose from the sunset cruise, sundown cruise or the dinner cruise. During the dinner cruise you also get a sneak peek into the life and times of the great Ahom General Lachit Borphukon and the Battle of Saraighat in the audio-visuals which are showed during the one and half hour cruise. Other highlights of the dinner cruise include the Satriya dance, Gayon-Bayon, Bihu dance and a live band to close the night on a highly musical note.
The sunset and the sundown cruise too promises you a fun and music filled cruise with some good food and beverages and of course a fabulous view of the vast Brahmaputra.
So, just let your hair down on the top deck, let the cool breeze brush past your face and stoke your hair as it blows by or just sit in the middle deck, enjoy the traditional dance and music as you enjoy a delectable spread that would bring your senses alive or just enjoy a quite lunch gazing out at the robust Brahmaputra from the air-conditioned restaurant below the middle deck, the Alfresco Grand with a capacity of 160 passengers has a lot to offer.
You can do the Titanic pose too on the top deck!
