Absconding Headmaster booked for sexually molesting a minor in Assam’s Karimganj arrested

On May 18, Asab Uddin, Head of Headmaster of Bhanga Higher Secondary School, Karimganj, was accused of sexually molesting a class 7 student
The Assam police have arrested Asab Uddin, Headmaster of Bhanga Higher Secondary School in Assam’s Karimganj district, who was booked on May 18 under the POCSO Act for trying to molest a minor student. Asab Uddin was on the run since May 18.
In a tweet, the Karimganj police wrote, “Reference Badarpur PS case no. 136/23 U/S 354 IPC, R/W Sec 8 of POCSO Act, Added Sec 376(3) IPC, R/W Sec 6 of POCSO Act, the accused person (Principal of Bhanga High School) has been arrested. Lawful action is being initiated.”
On May 18, Asab Uddin was accused of sexually molesting a Class 7 student and trying to rape her.
Reportedly, the headmaster called the minor into his room and tried to sexually molest her during school hours.
As per the locals, there have been similar allegations against the headmaster in the past as well.
The incident came to light after the parents of the victim took the minor to Karimganj Civil Hospital and informed the locals of the area about the incident.
The victim’s parents also filed a case against the headmaster.
Earlier the locals stormed the office of Karimganj SP, demanding the arrest of the headmaster of Bhanga High School.
