4 including a newly married couple from Assam goes missing in Himachal Pradesh

Four people including a newly married couple from Assam have gone missing in Himachal Pradesh amid the raging floods and landslides that has hit the hill state, a favourite tourist destination.

As per inputs, the couple and their two friends (One from Sonari and other one from) Sivasagar in Assam had gone to Himachal Pradesh on a vacation. On July 6, they left for Delhi and from there, they travelled to Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. On, July 8, they went to Shangarh and from there they gone to Kasol.

The three persons who have gone missing have been identified as–Shantanu Gogoi, Debashish Rajkhowa, and Shikha Phukan. The identity of the other person from Sivasagar is not known yet.

Sharing details, Debashish’s father said that till July 9, they were in touch with the family members. Debashish told him about a landslide and assured him that they are fine, but soon after, their mobile phones were no longer reachable.

Debashish’s father informed that with the assistance of the Assam police and the Himachal Pradesh police, the last location of the missing people has been traced to Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.

Mandi SP Saumya Sambasivan has said that if the four are in Mandi then they are most likely safe because the district administration is providing all tourists with all necessary help and are ensuring their safety.

The family members of the missing have requested Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to help them in bringing them back home.

Himachal has been ravaged by one of the worst-ever floods and landslides leaving several dead, several houses and cars were swept away, and roads and villages have been under water.
