Inter-state boundary issue: Arunachal govt steps up measures

Arunachal Pradesh deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein handed over the reports of the Regional Comms on Namsai and Lohit dists to CM Pema Khandu.

The Arunachal Pradesh government has stepped up efforts to resolve the inter-state boundary issue with Assam. In a significant development, deputy chief minister Chowna Mein handed over the report to Chief Minister Pema Khandu pertaining to the bordering districts of Namsai and Lohit.

This is a follow-up action of Namsai Declaration signed on July 15 between both the states for amicably resolving the border issue.

It may be mentioned, the inter-state boundary issue had found place in the 70th Plenary Session chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah. During the meeting, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart Pema Khandu had deliberated upon the matter with Amit Shah, wherein key decisions were taken up.
