The Galo Students’ Union (GSU), the apex student body of the Galo community in Arunachal Pradesh today submitted a memorandum to the State Government demanding swift action on several educational and administrative issues.
The demands include:

- Immediate granting of Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) powers to the principal of Government Model College Basar, Leparada district.

The Galo Students’ Union has warned of launching a democratic movement if their demands are not addressed within the next month.
“We have submitted a series of representations regarding the issues related to the Galo-dominated areas but we failed to find positive response on your side, your disregard to our grievances created chaos in the mind of the entire Galo Community, the intellectual feelings and emotions of Galo Students’ community almost in outburst. We gave an ultimatum of one month to the State Government to address the issues or else we will launch a democratic movement to press for their resolution,” said Vice President and Issue chairman of GSU, Ngomjum Likar.
