Arunachal: Demand for Tapor Pullom’s return intensifies

The demand for the safe return of missing Arunachal man Tapor Pullom has gained momentum once again. Students’ Union in Arunachal comprising of the All Kra Dadi District Students’ Union (AKDDSU) and the All Shi Yomi District Students’ Union (ASYDSU) among others launched a sit-in demonstration voicing their appeal for Tapor Pullom’s return.

Tapor Pullom who has beem missing since 2015 is suspected to be in the capitivity of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China.

His family has been pleading time and again to the state as well as the central government to inititate measures and ensure Tapor’s safe return.

However, there has been no breaktrough so far into the case.

It may be mentioned that earlier, speaking exclusively to North East Live, Pullom’s daughter-in-law Amoni Diru said that despite several rounds of protests, the government has not officially reacted to the issue.

Pullom’s daughter-in-law further said that the family will take the protest to New Delhi and urge upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take steps at the earliest for Tapor Pullom’s return.

The missing case Tapor Pullom has come to light last month after Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao requested the Centre to initiate steps for his release who was allegedly abducted by the Chinese PLA in September 2015 from the Line of Actual Control in Monigong area in Shi-Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh.
