Arunachal’s per capita income increased by 105% between 2015-16 and 2023-24: CM Khandu

The Chief Minister further announced that the GSDP also increased by 136 per cent during that period

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has said that the per capita income of the people of Arunachal increased by an impressive 105 per cent between the fiscal years 2015-16 and 2023-24.

“In 2016 the per capita income of the people of Arunachal was Rs 1,16,985. When the list was released for the year 2023 the per capita income was found to be Rs 2,39, 770 which represents a 105 per cent jump from 2016,” CM Khandu addressing a gathering in his state.

The Chief Minister further announced that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) also surged from Rs 20,373 crore in 2016 to Rs 48,028 crore in 2023, an increase of 136 per cent.

“If we talk about GSDP, the GSDP in 2016 was Rs 20,373 crore, last year in 2023 this figure increased by 136 per cent and currently stands at Rs 48028 crore,” he said.

He further added, “If we talk about the budget of the state, in 2016 the state budget was Rs 12,533 crore, since the BJP government has come to power we have increased it and it is currently at Rs 30,000 crore.”

Chief Minister Khandu announced the news in his official X handle. Taking to X, Khandu wrote, “In our pursuit of comprehensive development, we have hiked budget allocations. The increased funding has proven to be the driving force for growth & development. From fiscal 2015-2016 to 2023-2024, the per capita income of Arunachal Pradesh has surged by an impressive 105%. This increase serves as a positive indicator, further motivating us to tirelessly work for welfare of our people.”

Arunachal goes to poll in the next couple of months.
