Arunachal deluge: 70 students, teachers stranded at a school in Changlang rescued after 2 days

In yet another daredevil operation carried out by the 11 Assam Rifles and NDRF personnel, 70 students and five teachers along with some other civilians were successfully rescued from Bijoypur village in Diyun circle in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

They were stranded at the school since the last 2 days.

Few other civilians who were marooned due to the devastating flood were also rescued.

The rescued individuals expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles and NDRF rescue teams for saving their lives.

One of those rescued said, “We are very grateful to you all for bringing us out of danger. Earlier, floods did not happen here, even our elders had not seen it.”

The school as well as the Bijoypur area has been cut off from the rest of the region due to floods.

Following the flood situation, the Assam Rifles launched ‘Operation Saviour’ along with specialized team of army engineers from Changlang and teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
