APPSC paper leak: CM Khandu chairs key meet

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is committed to wipe out irregularities in the state. The APPSC is all set for transformation.

The Arunachal Pradesh government is committed in its stand against corruption and any other kind of irregularities. Chief Minister Pema Khandu is spearheading this mission and held a crucial cabinet meeting today especially to discuss the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leakage issue.

CM Khandu during the meeting clearly conveyed that his government has taken a serious note of the lapses.

Not only this, the Arunachal Pradesh government is also determined to further streamline the system by bridging the gaps, Khandu said.

Besides, the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister added that the government cannot tolerate any aspect that amounts to undermine the sanctity of an institution like APPSC.

It may be mentioned that preliminary probe exposed the involvement of the APPSC Secretary in connection with the assistant engineer (civil) examination paper leak case.

APPSC secretary Jayanta Kumar Ray has been put under suspension with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that joint secretary-cum-controller of examination Suraj Gurung, who is an APCS officer, has also been put under suspension with immediate effect.

At least 10 people have been arrested so far in connection with the case.

The probe into the case begun after a candidate filed a police complaint on August 29, stating that he suspected that the AE (civil) examination paper was leaked. More than 400 candidates appeared in the examination that was held on August 26 and 27.
