3 athletes from Arunachal selected for trials for National U-19 Football Tournament

Three athletes from Arunachal Pradesh have been selected by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to participate in trials for the national U-19 women’s football tournament to be held in Goa from December 31.

The three athletes are–Lingdum Yaro, Gunailu Tawsik and Yumlam Lali of the state’s junior women’s football team.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated them for their selections and extended his best wishes for the tournament.

“Heartening that three bright, promising young players – Lingdum Yaro, Gunailu Tawsik & Yumlam Lali – from Arunachal Pradesh have been selected for trials for National U-19 Football Tournament. This is a momentous opportunity for you. Give your best and bring laurels to our State. My best wishes,” CM Khandu tweeted.

Earlier, they had participated in the Hero National Junior Women’s Football Championship held at Bhubaneswar, Odisha from September 20-30, 2023.

The Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) honorary secretary Kipa Ajay also congratulated them, besides the coach and the team management.

Praising the coach and the management, Ajay said that they have worked as hard as these players to improve their game.
