Massive fire at PNB’s Tezpur branch, cash turned to ashes

A massive fire broke out at the Punjab National Bank’s Tezpur branch. The fire broke out last night. A large amount of cash has been reduced to ashes. The damage is estimated at over Rs 20 lakh. Computers, papers and furniture also was burnt.
As many as 8 fire tenders were rushed to the spot who managed to douse the flame and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the area.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
On December 12, properties worth lakhs of rupees were gutted and one person was killed after a massive fire broke out at the Jorabat area in Guwahati. At least five houses were damaged in the fire.
