A major fire broke out at the Roing market at around 8:30 pm last night which was later doused after 3 hours of continuous efforts by the Fire Department.

The fire is suspected to have started from a bakery, however some are suspecting a restaurant which is right next to the bakery.

The wind aided fire spread quickly within the market area making it difficult for the fire fighters to contain the blaze. According to sources, help was called in from fire brigades in Chapakowa and Tezu.

Inspite of the fire department reaching the site on time and engaging four tankers and three fire trucks, the fire was brought under control after hours of effort.

However, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
