Arunachal Pradesh: Ultras demand Rs 60 lakh for release of village chief, brother

A leader of the NSCN (Ang Mai) contacted a family member to place the ransom demand.

The abductors of the two brothers from Kamhua Noksa village in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh has demanded a ransom of Rs 60 lakh for the duo’s release.

Katwang Wangham, the chief of Kamhua Noksa village and his brother, Wangtai Wangsu were abducted by militants on October 29.

Sources said that a leader of the NSCN (Ang Mai) had contacted a family member to make the ransom demand.

Security forces had launched operations to rescue the two brothers.

According to the sources, self styled Maj. Gen. Somchai Konyak had planned the abduction, which was carried out by a five-member group led by self styled sergeant major Wanglem Wangsu.
