Manipur Police personnel shot dead by armed gunmen

The incident happened when the deceased was reportedly inspecting the helipad in Moreh

Sensation prevails in Manipur’s border town Moreh after a police personnel was shot dead by unidentified armed gunmen. The assailants shot at the cop with a sniper at around 9:30 am Tuesday morning while he was inspecting the newly constructed helipad at Eastern Ground, under Moreh police station, police sources informed.
The injured cop was rushed to the Moreh Public Health Centre (PHC), but he succumbed to his injuries.
Earlier, reports had emerged that the cop was shot while he was playing football at the Moreh Ward No. 7 Eastern Shine School Ground.
The deceased has been identified as SDPO Moreh, Ch Anand Kumar, who was hit in the stomach.
