APPSC paper leak scam: PAJSC begins 4-day sit-in-demonstration in Itanagar

The PAJSC has flayed the role of CM Pema Khandu alleging that the government has only delayed things so far since the scam came to light
The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) began its peaceful 4-day sit-in protest at Tennis Court in Itanagar from today demanding the fulfilment of 13-point charter of demands surrounding the APPSC paper leak scam. The PAJSC has been repeatedly alleging that the government is resorting to delaying tactics.
PAJSC vice-president Tadak Nalo who is also a part of the protest spoke to Northeast Live after the peaceful agitation began.
He said, “This movement is continuing for more than a year, it is almost 14-15 months now. The demands which we have put forward are not new. From September 26 to 28 we have staged a peaceful dharna, we expected that there will be a positive outcome with the intervention of the Chief Minister and the state government. The CM himself had asked us to go and meet the Chief Secretary (CS), so that our doubts and confusions could be cleared. We met the CS after our 72-hours of protest. After that we discussed our demands on a point-to-point basis. The CS was himself convinced that our issues are yet to be resolved. We expected that the government would fulfil our demands, but unfortunately nothing such has happened.”
The PAJSC vice-president also flayed the role of Chief Minister Pema Khandu for allegedly failing to resolve the issue by fulfilling the demands. According to Tadak Nalo, the APPSC paper leak issue is something, which if not resolved now, will impact the future generations of the state.
He said, “This is not our personal issue, nor it is a kind of small issue which can be ignored. This is such a serious issue from which we cannot step back, because this will decide the future of Arunachal Pradesh. So we are sticking to our demands. On February 18th, CM Pema Khandu has assured that he would fulfil our demands, but 8 months have passed we do not the reason as to why the CM is running away from whatever he has promised. Because our demands are not anyway related to rocket science, which cannot be fulfilled.”
The sit-in demonstration will conclude on October 31.
