Mizoram Polls 2023: PM Narendra Modi, HM Amit Shah, Assam CM Sarma among BJP’s star campaigners

The list of 40 star campaigners includes Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal and Tripura

It will be a high profile campaigning for the BJP in the run up to the Mizoram Assembly elections.

The Saffron Party is all set to woo the voters with full might as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spearhead the campaigning. A host of other prominent leaders will also descend in the poll bound state for consolidating the party’s base further.

Among other key leaders of the BJP who will be drumming up support for the party candidates include Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha among others.

The BJP will be fighting in 23 of the total 40 assembly constituencies.

In 2018, the BJP’s vote share jumped to 8%, a huge leaver over the 0.37% it had in 2013, as per data by the Election Commission (EC). The BJP won one seat, and the Mizo National Front (MNF) cornered 26 in the 40-member Assembly. The BJP had contested 39 seats in 2018.
