The Arunachal Pradesh government is in the dock with an RTI enquiry revealing that it had recently appointed three members of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women, including its chairperson, without any of them even applying for the position.
This charge has been leveled by the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) of the State before newsmen in Guwahati.
The women’s welfare body stated that, on March 9, the State government had appointed Dr. Nirmali Taba as chairperson, Padmeshwari Jamoh as vice-chairperson and Taba Rosy as member of the APSCW.
Members of APWWS have further alleged that the State government had not followed the rules of the APSCW Act, 2002 while appointing the members.
