Soldier shoots self dead with service gun in Assam’s Karimganj

The deceased jawan has been identified as Ajay Singh (53), a resident of Indupur village in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district.
In a shocking incident, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan shot himself dead with his service gun while on duty in Assam’s Karimganj district on Monday night.
The incident took place at Camp-10 in Ratabari area.
The deceased jawan has been identified as Ajay Singh (53), a resident of Indupur village in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district.
Following the incident, the CRPF officials rushed to the spot and took the body to a nearby hospital for an autopsy.
No suicide note was found at the spot. The cause of the suicide is yet to be ascertained.
Further investigation is underway.
