Assam: School teacher arrested for sexually assaulting class 5 girl in Nagaon

In a horrific incident, a school teacher in Assam’s Nagaon was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl at the school campus on Monday.
The incident took place at the Mahendra Baruah Prathamik Vidyalaya in Haibargaon in the district.
The accused teacher has been identified as Adhar Thakuria.
As per inputs, for a long period of time, Thakuria has been sexually abusing the class 5 girl of the school.
Situation turned volatile after the incident came to light. The teacher was thrashed by a group of agitated locals.
However, the situation was brought under control after the police arrived at the incident spot.
Later the group handed over the accused teacher to the police.
Further investigation is underway.
