Ahead of Asian Games 2023, here’s a list of disciplines that India won the most medals in

India have the most medals in athletes and they have won 79 gold medals. They have bagged 88 silver medals and 87 bronze medals

Asian Games will take place in Hangzhou, China this year from September 23 to October 8. India have been a powerhouse since the Asian Games started in 1951. Here are the top five disciplines with the most medals India have won in the event:

Athletics

India have the most medals in athletes and they have won 79 gold medals. They have bagged 88 silver medals and 87 bronze medals. Overall, India claimed 254 medals in athletes.

Wrestling

Wrestling has been the most successful discipline for India in Asian Games. The Indian wrestlers have won 59 medals so far in the event with 11 gold, 14 silver and 34 bronze medals.

Shooting

Indian shooters have made India proud in many international events. They have performed phenomenally in the Asian Games by earning nine gold, 21 silver and 28 bronze. They have claimed a total of 58 medals so far.

Boxing

They have claimed a total of 57 medals. They bagged 9 gold, 16 silver and 32 bronze.

India have performed exceptionally in tennis where they have won 32 medals so far with nine gold, six silver and 17 bronze.
