Assam : Heroin worth Rs 21 crore seized in Jorabat; three arrested

A joint operation conducted by the Jorabat OP and CGPD team seized heroin with an estimated market value of Rs 21 crore.
The drugs, weighing 2.527 kilograms, were concealed in 198 soap boxes. The drugs were smuggled from Manipur to Guwahati.
The drug smugglers have been identified as – Md Jamir, Md Yakup, and Md Amir Khan, all from Thoubal, Manipur. The smugglers have been apprehended by the police.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the Assam Police for their successful operation which led to the seizure of these illegal substances.
“In yet another successful operation, @GuwahatiPol seized 198 soap boxes containing suspected Heroin weighing 2.527 kg, at Jorabat. Three persons were apprehended in the incident. Kudos to @assampolice!” CM Sarma said on X.
