In response to the filing of a case in the Meghalaya High Court by the Harijan Panchayat Committee against the formation of a High level Committee in connection with the Sweeper Colony issue, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that the state government will respond to the two weeks time given by the court.

The Deputy Chief Minister informed that the High Level Committee in its recently concluded meeting had raised some points and redirected the Municipality Board and the Land Records Department to work on those and submit its report again.

Meanwhile, state Home Minister James Sangma said that the government is sincere in its endeavour to reach to a solution by taking all the stakeholders into consideration.
