Multiple landslides, rockslides and mudslides triggered by incessant rainfall in the past couple of days has snapped road communication to West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Several patches of Balipara-Chariduar-Tawang road have been severely damaged near Nag Mandir, Birpur, 91 RCC and Rupa Mod.

Massive landslides have been reported in several locations along the Orang-Kalaktang-Shergaon-Rupa-Tenga road, completely disrupting road connectivity.

It may be noted that the Balipara-Chariduar-Tawang road connects with Assam’s Sonitpur district, while the Orang-Kalaktang-Shergaon-Rupa-Tenga route connects with Assam’s Udalguri district.

There are also reports of landslides in the Denzi labor camp, as well as other minor blocks of roads between Kalaktang and Tenzin Gaon.

According to sources, these areas have been closed since today morning owing to mud, rorck and landslides.

These roads are strategically vital in terms of medical facilities, business, and many other things for the inhabitants of West Kameng, East Kameng, and Tawang districts.
