6 teachers from Northeast to be conferred National Teachers’ Award 2023, Check full list here

The selected awardees will be conferred the awards by President Droupadi Murmu on September 5, 2023

As many as 50 government school teachers have been selected for the National Teachers’ Award 2023. Among the 50 teachers, 6 are from Northeast.

The selected awardees will be conferred the awards by President Droupadi Murmu in a programme to be held on September 5, 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Their boarding and accommodation arrangements have been made at the Hotel The Ashok’ in New Delhi from September 3 (afternoon) to the 6 (forenoon), said the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education in a statement.

Each award carries a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs 50,000/- and a silver medal.

The 6 teachers from Northeast who have been slected for the prestgious awrad are:

1.Netai Chandra Dey of Ramkrishna Mission School in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.

2.Ningthoujam Binoy Singh of Chingmei Upper Primary School in Bishnupur district of Manipur.

  1. Lalthianghlima of Diakkawn High School Kolasib, Mizoram.

4.Madhav Singh of Alpha English Higher Secondary School in Ri Bhoi, Meghalaya.

5.Kumud Kalita of Pathsala Senior Secondary School, Muguria, Bajali, Assam.

6.Dr Purna Bahadur Chettri, the Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Soreng in Sikkim.

These teachers have been selected for their outstanding contributions to education, which ranged from implementing innovative teaching methods in classrooms.
