The world is celebrating World Photography Day today on August 19, a global event dedicated to recognizing the power of photography in stories, emotions, and memories.

This year’s theme, “Landscapes,” invites photography enthusiasts to share their most breathtaking landscape captures, inviting them to tag #WorldPhotographyDay and #WorldPhotographyDay2023 across social media platforms.

At the forefront of this creative celebration is the World Press Photo of the Year 2023, awarded to Evgeniy Maloletka of the AP for his impactful photograph titled “Mariupol Maternity Hospital Airstrike.”
The photograph portrays the anguish and adversity borne by the people during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Turning our attention to the vibrant Northeastern region of India, where artistic talent knows no bounds, let us look at some of the photographers from the region who have made a name for themselves in the world of photography.
