An all important meeting to review the security situation in Assam ahead of the final draft publication of the National Register of Citizens on July 30 was held in New Delhi today.
The meeting with the senior MHA officials was attended by Assam Chief Secretary T.Y. Das, DGP Kuladhar Saikia, Principal Secretary (Home & Political) LS Sangson, NRC coordinator Prateek Hajela, ADG Special Branch Pallab Bhattacharya, and several other officials of the intelligence department.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, DGP Kuladhar Saikia said the law and order situation in the state ahead for the NRC final draft was discussed even as the various measures put in place were reviewed.
Saikia also said that the MHA has assured that additional forces will be provided ahead of the publication of final draft.
