The opposition Congress in Arunachal Pradesh has launched a scathing attack on the state government over the scam surrounding payment of compensation money for acquiring land for the trans Arunachal highway and has directly blamed Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein of having a hand in it.
Demanding the resignation of Deputy chief minister Chowna Mein accusing him of issuing illegal orders on the compensation issue to the MLAs of Yachuli, Ziro and Raga constituencies, the Congress also questioned the silence of Arunachal MP and Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on the issue.
The Congess, which has set up a highway assessment committee to look into the issue, said the deputy chief minister along with the three MLA’s of Yachuli, Ziro and Raga should also be arrested in the case.
Pointing out that the three arrested yesterday including the former DC of Lower Subansiri distirct Kemo Lollen were booked for anomalies allegedly amounting to Rs 40 crore, the Congress claimed that there has been misappropriation to the tune of nearly Rs 200 crore in another stretch of the same highway from Potin to Bopi.
