Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President, Lalsawta today said that the entire country, especially Mizoram, is passing through the darkest and most difficult time after independence due to the rule of the BJP.
Addressing a press conference in Aizawl Congress Bhavan, Lalsawta said that the darkest and most difficult time has been brought in the country by the fascist BJP government at the centre which let loose a cyclone out to destroy the religious and cultural rights of the minorities in the country.
He said that India is now regarded as one of the most dangerous countries for Christians in the world.
Lalsawta said that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been proposed to be legislated and implemented to wipe away the culture and tradition of the minority committee by imposing the culture and tradition of the majoritarian community on the minorities.
“As the entire country is in a quandary, opposition parties came together and form Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) to save the country,” he said, adding, “The fascist cyclone is creating havoc and ravaging Manipur at this time.”
He said that the Congress party condole the deaths and sufferings of the Mizo kindred brothers in Manipur who are bearing the brunt of violence and their homes devastated by fires.
He also slammed the BJP at the centre for the passage of the Forest Conservation Amendment Bill, 2023 in both houses of the Parliament as implementation of the act will speed up destruction of environment, especially in Mizoram and the other northeastern states.
These initiatives of the BJP-led NDA government is also extremely dangerous for the unity and integrity of the country, he said, and appealed to all the political parties, civil societies and the churches in the state to forge anti-BJP alliance.
He also appealed to the political parties in the state having alliance with the saffron party through the NDA or NEDA to snap ties immediately.
