World Taekwondo rankings: Arunachal’s Rupa Bayor is now World No 12

Defying all challenges Rupa will represent India at the Asian Games which is going to beign from September

An example of sheer grit and determination, ace Taekwondo player from Arunachal Pradesh Rupa Bayor has achieved a new milestone.
Rupa Bayor is now the World No 12 amongst the Taekwondo players. She has also added another feather to her cap by attaining Rank 3 in Asian rankings.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu took to Twitter to congratulate the promising athlete.

Chief Minister Khandu tweeted,”Rupa Bayor ~ pride of Arunachal Pradesh ~ logs a new milestone. She is among top 12 Taekwondo players of the world in August 2023 Ranking and 3rd Asian star, a historic moment for 🇮🇳, indeed!
Let sky not be the limit for you Rupa. Congratulations 🎊 and best wishes!”

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also conveyed his greetings to Rupa on the occasison. He tweeted,”Congratulations to Ms. Rupa Bayor on securing the Top 12 in the World Taekwondo Ranking and the Top 3 in the Asian Ranking! She has shown us all that with determination and hard work, anything is possible.
Wishing her continued success in her future endeavors and looking forward to seeing her represent India in more international events.”

Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports Mama Natung also congratulated Rupa Bayor on her success. Rupa Bayor will represent India at the upcoming 19th Asian Games scheduled to be held in China’s Hangzhou city from 23rd September to 8th October 2023. She was selected to represent India at the 19th Asian Games after she secured Gold medal in the senior 1 Poomsae female category during the selection trial.
