First Published: 9th July, 2023 16:27 IST

Over 2 months of violence in Manipur, still the conflict seems far from over.

With no hopes of returning home, internally displaced people have now begun to search for means to sustain themselves and their children. Inmates at various relief camps in Imphal have started engaging themselves in skill development activities provided by the government so that they can start generating an income. Team Northeast Live visited the Relief Camp at Ideal Girls College in Akampat, Imphal East. The camp, sponsored by Forest Minister Thongam Bishwajit, is among the largest relief camps in the state, with 720 inmates lodged at the camp. In an effort to earn some income and fulfil the needs of their children, women and mothers at the camp have started making Artificial Flowers to sell in the market.
